My name is Kacey Cooper. When I was a little girl in first grade, Angela Hucles visited my school. She had just helped the US Women's Soccer Team win gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She asked for two volunteers to wear and show off her olympic medals and my hand shot straight up. She picked me and put her gold medal around my neck. In that moment, I knew I wanted one for myself. Now, 17 years later, I am still chasing that dream, but it looks a little different. I want to create meaningful and impactful work that people will remember for years to come. That will be my gold medal.
